The conference titled "Search Conference" will be the first event of the Lean Sigma Conference 3, and the participants from the supporting (sponsor) companies will be attending it.

Who is Associate Professor Oğuz BABÜROĞLU? |

He completed the first term of his educational career at TED (Turkish Education Association) Ankara College, and Taunton School, England. In 1977, he graduated from Sussex University, England by defending his thesis about Applied Sciences and Operational Research, and became an Industrial Engineer. In 1978, he received his M.Sc. degree in Operational Research, from Lancaster University, England. Again, in 1978, he got his Ph.D. degree on Social System Sciences from Pennsylvania University, The Wharton School, USA.
He started his academic career in West Chester University by lecturing on Business Policy and Strategy, Change Management, Organizational Design and Development, from 1982 to 1986. Starting from 1986 to 1991, he lectured on Business Policy and Strategy, at Clarkson University. Between 1991 and 1992, he taught Change Management at INSEAD, France. He worked as the senior research fellow on organizational development, at Work Research Institute, Norway. From 1991 to 1998, he taught Business Policy and Strategy, Change Management, Organizational Design and Development, Organizational Behavior and Theory, at Bilkent University, Turkey. Between 2003 and 2006, he worked at Norwegian University of Science and Technology EDWOR program, as a lecturer. Since 1998, he lectures on Operation Development in Management, Operation Sharing in Management, Change Methods, at Sabanci University. While continuing his works as a lecturer, he also founded Search (Arama) Participatory Management Consulting in 1995, to facilitate companies, holdings, regions and all the country to apply participatory management methods. He participated in these projects, with various capacities. With Arama, he realized more than 500 participatory management applications. |

Who is Tom SHUKER? |

Tom worked for more than 30 years at General Motors as the expert/senior engineer; he also spent some years at New United Motors Manufacturing Inc., the GM-Toyota joint venture, working within the Toyota Manufacturing System. His 2 books titled “Value Stream Management” and “Value Stream Management for the Lean Office” are published by the Productivity Press. Tom also held an efficient position in the team that prepared the renowned book “Learning to See”, which is published by the Lean Enterprise Institute. He executed many trainings and workshops in Boston and Massachusetts, in the name of Lean Enterprise Institute. Tom also works as a partner of an investment company that acquires small production companies and enlarges them. In the company named Wisconsin that he holds the position of CEO, through these operations, he actualized Lean Transformation and reached some impressive business results. Tom currently works as a partner of a Lean Management Consultancy company called Lean Transformation Group (LTG), which achieved many successful results in the application of Lean Management also in the fields other than production, and became an important brand; John SHOOK is a partner of the same consultancy company as well. |

Agah UĞUR Borusan Holding (Board of Directors Managing Director – CEO) He was born in 1957, in Istanbul, Turkey. Following his graduation from the English High School, he studied industrial engineering (BSC degree) at Birmingham University. He worked at the international auditing and consultancy company Touche Ross’s (recent name DRT) Birmingham, London and Jersey offices for 5 years. He succeeded in the “Institute of Chartered Accountants” tests and qualified as a Chartered Accountant. Then he returned to Turkey and worked at Arthur Andersen for 2 years. From 1987 to 1989, he worked as the Financial Affairs Group Manager at Emlak Bankasi, for 18 months. Since May 1989, he has been working at Borusan Holding. First, he assumed the position of the vice general director in charge of financial affairs of the group, and then he directed the fields of financial planning, human resources and administrative coordination. In 1995, he is appointed as the CEO and the managing director of the Borusan Holding group. He is married, with two daughters. He is the industrial affairs workgroup leader of Turkish Industrialist and Businessman’s Association (TUSIAD), chairman of the board of Corporate Volunteers Association (OSGD), member of the board of World Wildlife Fund (WWF) Turkey and Turkish Foundation International (TBV), member of Turkish-German business council executive committee of Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK), member of deanery council of Harvard University KSG, member of consultancy council of Bilgi University, member of executive committee of competition forum of TUSIAD – Sabanci University. He is the ex-member of board of directors of TUSIAD, Turkish Society for Quality (KalDer), Corporate Volunteers Association, Corporate Governance Association of Turkey, and Young Professionals & Businessmen of Turkey (GYIAD) |

Ali HÜROĞLU Coca Cola Icecek (Supply Chain Services Director) He has been working for Coca-Cola for 20 years. He worked as the plant manager in charge of production and sales of the Trabzon facility and Mersin facility respectively. Subsequently, he assumed the position of operations manager of the Ankara plant and then East Region Group. Since 2001, he has been working at Coca-Cola Icecek as the Supply Chain Services Director. He was born in 1955, and holds a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. |

Ali İŞOĞLU Akzo Nobel (Business Excellence Manager) He was born in 1972, in Ankara. He received his bachelor’s degree from Istanbul Technical University Industrial Engineering, and he got his postgraduate degree from Bogazici University, again on Industrial Engineering. From 1996 to 1999, he worked at Arcelik as the team and investment-planning engineer, and then he moved to Marshall. In 2000–2002, he has become the process development project leader, between 2002–2005, he assumed the position of assistant to general manager/strategic planning, from 2005 to 2007, he has become the business development manager, and from 2007 until 2008, he worked as the human resources and process development manager. Recently, he is working at Akzo Nobel Company as the business excellence manager in charge with Northern and Eastern Europe. He is executing the “Complexity Reduction Program Execution”, “Objective Cards Execution” and “Process Execution: Process Maturity Model Application” in 17 countries that are parts of the six subgroups he is in charge of. He is married, with one child. |

Ali SÖZEN Yasar Holding (President of Food and Beverages Group) Born in 1964, in Istanbul. After graduating from Istanbul Technical University Management Engineering Department, he finished his MBA degree in which he focused on finance, at the University of Toledo, USA. He started his career with Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, and subsequently worked at Emek Sigorta, Kar Gida and Inchcape Retrans companies as the marketing and sales manager. From 1995 to 2002 he worked at Coca-Cola Turkey Bottling Company as the Marmara region key customers manager, national key customers manager, and Coca-Cola Asia Sales Headquarters manager respectively. After his position at Yasar Birlesik Pazarlama as the vice-president in 2002–2007, he worked at Coca-Cola Hellenic as the Nigeria commerce director from 2007 to 2009. Since August 2009, he is working as the president of food and beverages group at Yasar Holding. He is married, with two children. |

Mustafa YILMAZ AKSA Acrylic (General Manager) After graduating from Ankara University Faculty of Science Chemical Engineering Department, in 1971, he received his Master's degree from the same faculty. His business career began at Etibank Ergani Copper Operations. In 1974, Yilmaz started his job at Aksa Acryclic Chemical Engineering Incorporated Company as the operations engineer, working in the fields of research, production and quality management; in 1985 he was promoted to the position of assistant technical general manager, and in 2002 he became the general manager of the company. Yilmaz got various trainings on specialization and management, and finished his education on "Advanced Management" at the Harvard Business School. Born in 1949 in Tekirdag, Turkey, he is the father of two children. |

Swami SUBRAMANIAN Coca Cola Eurasia & Africa (Group Operational Excellence Director) Swami currently leads Operational Excellence (OE) initiative across the Eurasia & Africa Group, spanning 8 business units, 90 countries, and 300 manufacturing sites. This Group covers the largest territory within the Coca-Cola system. He is responsible for accelerating the achievement of ‘Lean & Green’ supply chain by driving operational productivity and environmental stewardship goals across the entire supply chain (supplier, manufacturing, warehousing, distribution networks and selling systems). He previously served as a corporate senior Business Excellence advocate, where he was part of a central team responsible for developing and implementing operational excellence programs globally. Prior to joining Coca Cola in Jan 2006, Swami spent 12 years at the Ford Motor Company in Detroit, Michigan where he held several roles in the design and development of automotive engines for cars and trucks. He played a key role in the company’s Six Sigma initiatives launched in 2000, executing and delivering projects to improve quality, customer satisfaction, and reduce costs. He was responsible for leading and embedding six sigma disciplines in a product development organization of 900 employees. Swami holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. As a Lean Six Sigma practitioner, he is also a certified Master Black Belt. |

Tumer ARITÜRK SPAC Consulting (Founding Partner) He graduated from METU Mechanical Engineering Department in 1995, and started his career at Arcelik Company, as the production engineer at the dishwasher plant. At the end of 1999, he was awarded with Arcelik CEO Special Prize, for his successful executions. In 2000, he received Six Sigma Black Belt and Master Black Belt certificates respectively. From 1999 to 2001, he was in charge of Six Sigma consultancy and training, in addition to leading the Six Sigma projects in the company. At the end of 2001, he joined SPAC Consulting as an independent consultant. He played a key role in the preparation of all training documents that are used by SPAC Consulting. Since 2001, he provided Lean Six Sigma training and consultancy services for numerous companies, and trained countless Black Belts and Green Belts. He is among the certificated Six Sigma consultants of globally renowned companies such as George Group Consulting, Valeocon Consulting, Infinitas Consulting, Air Academy Association and Coca Cola Company. He is a member of Six Sigma organizations like ISSSP, ASQ and Six Sigma Forum. In the field of Six Sigma, he attended many seminars as the lecturer, and his articles are published in various magazines. He is one of the three co-writers of the books "Altı Sigma Nedir?" (What is Six Sigma?) and "Altı Sigma Vizyonu" (Vision of Six Sigma). He is a very experienced Lean Six Sigma Consultant, who provided Lean Six Sigma consultancy services to tens of companies like Coca Cola Kazakhstan, Jordan, Turkey, AkzoNobel Poland, Schneider Electric, Aksa Acrylic, Hugo BOSS and Orhan Holding, for many years. |
