ABOUT...

Tuba Ünlü, who graduated from Ankara Gazi University Industrial Engineering, started her career in Vizon textile first as a customer representative and then as a Purchasing and Planning specialist. Afterwards, she decided to switch to Automotive Sub-Industry and worked in the Quality department of the international rim manufacturer Maxion Wheels. In 2005, she received Lean 6Sigma Green Belt and then Lean 6 Sigma Black Belt certificates, and the entire Operational Excellence and Quality Management System of the sheet metal rim business including TPM Coordination.

Tuba Ünlü, who is also a manager and team coach, provides coaching support to the teams involved in this process, in the motivation and competence development process, along with the technical aspect of continuous improvement. Tuba Ünlü, who left Kanat Boya by deciding to continue her 30 years of experience in company change management under the umbrella of Tempus Engineering Consulting, continues her career as a companion to companies in the fields of efficiency and human resources.

Afterwards, she continued her corporate life at Kanat Boya as Assistant General Manager and Member of the Executive Board. Throughout her career, she carried out projects in all direct and indirect processes in the companies she worked for, and took an active role in the preparation of strategic road maps and putting them into action. Burcu Yıldırım graduated from Middle East Technical University, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering in 2006. She started as a quality engineer at MİTAŞ Cıvata in 2007, and also worked on the sales of international projects, operational management, logistics, and customer relations. She completed her duty as the quality manager in 2013. She accomplished Lean 6 Sigma Green Belt Program in 2010 and Lean 6 Sigma Black Belt Program in 2017. In 2014, she graduated from the Middle East Technical University, Executive Business Administration Graduate Program. She carries out training and sales processes on software related to reliability engineering (ReliaSoft) and lean manufacturing (AviX, digi5S); provides training and project consultancy on Lean 6 Sigma and reliability since 2015 in S.P.A.C. In 2019 and 2020, She organized Applied Reliability and Durability Conferences (Regional) in Turkey and takes part in the organization of the Lean 6 Sigma Conferences.

Designing Reliability: A Holistic Approach to the Product Journey

ABOUT...

Çiğdem Ezgi ARER graduated from Yıldız Technical University's Mechanical Engineering department in 2017. She began her career as a R&D System Design Engineer at Arçelik Tumble Dryer Plant, where she worked on the design and performance optimization of heat pump and condenser tumble dryer systems.

In 2019, she joined Arçelik's Product Sourcing Directorate, Quality Assurance as the Product Evaluation Specialist for Small Domestic Appliances, taking charge of quality processes. During this time, she successfully obtained the ‘’6 Sigma Green Belt’’ and ‘’6 Sigma Black Belt’’ certifications, along with the ‘’Reliability Champion’’ certification. Simultaneously, she managed performance and life test laboratory activities, leading to the successful implementation of Reliability projects, which included Forced Failure tests, Accelerated Life Tests (ALTA), Reliability Block Diagram (RBD), and Fail-Safe studies. She effectively presented these projects at the regularly organized Arçelik Reliability Day events from 2017 to the present.

Currently, Çiğdem Ezgi ARER is a member of the Quality Systems team at Arçelik's Quality, Sustainability, and Corporate Affairs Directorate. She provides Reliability, Design, and Process FMEA training to all domestic and international plants of Arçelik, which operate 30 production facilities in nine countries, including Turkey, Romania, South Africa, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Russia, China and Thailand. Additionally, she offers project consultancy services in Reliability, Design, and Process FMEA, as well as 6 Sigma and Advanced Data Analytics.

As part of the company's reliability vision and roadmap development, she plays a key role in monitoring industry trends and market expectations, leading the design of new applications and processes.

After 6 Sigma Training and projects, he completed the 6σ Black Belt certification in 2002 and took on various roles in internal project leadership, training and deployment. He completed his Masters in Business Administration (MBA-2012) and Human Resources Management (HRM-2023) at Bilgi University.

He took part in various management positions in Çimtaş Pipe Manufacturing, Çimtaş Piping Industry and Çimtaş Precision Machining at Çimtaş Steel Manufacturing, Erection and Installation company, which is a subsidiary of ENKA. (1998-2019) Burat, who also served as the General Manager of Çimtaş Precision Machining Industry and Trade Ltd., served as the Operations Manager in charge of Turkey and Saudi Arabia at Sonoco Alcore in 2019.

As of March 2022, Baran Burat continues to work at Borçelik Çelik Sanayi, a partnership of Arcellor Mittal - Borusan, as a Member of the Executive Board of R&D, Digital Transformation, Information Technologies and Management Systems.

Born in 1967, Hakan Göral graduated from Eskişehir Anatolian High School in 1985 and completed his undergraduate degree at Boğaziçi University Mechanical Engineering Department in 1990 and then his master’s degree at Marmara University Industrial Engineering Department. Göral also received advanced training on Executive Management and Leadership at Northwestern University, Kellogg School of Management and Stanford University.

Göral coordinated supplier development, purchasing and central purchasing activities as the Group Manager in the Automotive Supply Coordination Group of Koç Holding between 1990 and 2002, and also managed various projects in Koç Automotive Group companies. He moved to Mako Elektrik (Magneti Marelli J.V.) in 2001-2004 and served as Assistant General Manager, CFO in charge of Sales, Human Resources, Information Technologies, Accounting and Finance. Göral, who became Turkey Senior Vice President of Componenta, which bought Döktaş in 2006, served as a Member of the Executive Board of Compenenta Corporation and worked as the General Manager responsible for four business units in Turkey. In addition, he served as a member of the Board of Directors of Componenta Dökümcülük and Kumsan A.Ş. Göral, who served as the CEO and Chairman of the Executive Board of İnci Holding between 2012 and 2016, served as Chairman and Member of the Board of Directors at İnci Holding group companies, İnci Akü, İncitaş, ISM, İnci Logistics, Aten Brantner and Maxion İnci.

Selçuk Kamil Yarangümelioğlu was born on March 7, 1961 in Istanbul. He graduated from the French Saint Michel High School in 1979. He graduated from the Faculty of Business Administration of Istanbul Technical University in 1983 as Business Engineer, and then completed his MBA at the Social Sciences Institute of the same university.

In 1986, he started his business life in Çukurova Grup, with Eternit A.S as a sales & markeHng specialist. He made several market research and feasibility works. In 1990-1992, he worked as a printshop manager at Alphagraphics, US Tuscan-based company operaHng with the franchise model in desktop publishing being joint venture with Tifdruk Matbaacılık A.Ş., which operates as the leading company in the packaging industry. In 1992, he was appointed OperaHons Manager of Alphagraphics IML Turkey. In 1994, he was appointed as the Technical Manager of Tifdruk Matbaacılık A.Ş. He was responsible for the rotogravure printing, offset prinHng, die cuttng, bookbinding, continuous form printing, check printing and all related prepress and repro activities.

After 9 years business life in Çukuova Holding, in 1995, he started to work as the 3rd Factory Manager at Elif Plastik. He was appointed as the General Manager of the company in November 1996. Since then, he has served as the CEO of all Elif subsidiaries, including Elif Holding.

In 1997, he started the institutionalization and transformation of the company. He leaded to gather all his factories under one roof in his large-scale factory, which was built in 2004 with the vision of 10 + 10 years. In 2014, Cairo Plant started to production with the same concept. Being greenfield factories, they are the true application of the franchising model to industry and are one the best of their kind globally in the flexible packaging industry. Selcuk applied the continuous sustainable transformation model with phases lasting 5 years each. In each phase, he leaded the organizaHon and system changed required by the growth and transformation. He acted on the basis of universal values, with the moio of being original and leader, and pioneered the formation of a strong corporate culture.

Yamantürk, who has been working as Döktaş Orhangazi Production and Technology Group Director since January 1, 2022, has been appointed to the position of GURIS Industry Group Production and Technology Group President as of May 1, 2023. He still continues his duty.

As the Deputy Chairman of the Board of Endel Group of Companies, he is responsible for the management of the companies operating in the White Goods and Automotive sector in the White Goods and Automotive sector, and the Kılıçoğlu and Megaron brands and the companies operating in the field of Tile and Roof Accessories as the Construction Materials Group.

He was the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the White Goods Sub-Industry Association BEYSAD between 2016-2023. He is the Vice President of TOBB Durable Consumption Council. He is a board member of the Electrical and Electronics Exporters' Association (TET).

Şeref Burak Özaydemir is married and has two daughters. He is a graduate of Bilkent Electrical and Electronics Engineering. He holds MA degrees in Manufacturing Engineering from Stanford University in the USA and Business Administration from INSEAD in France. He is fluent in English.

He assumed the roles of Operations Manager, Operations and Maintenance Manager. Ayhan Özyıldız, who assumed the position of Director of Operations at the Yeni Electricity Plant in 2014, was later appointed as the General Manager of Yeni Electricity. Ayhan Özyıldız, who started the TANAP project in 2016, served as OTL Manager until the end of 2017.

He started his journey in EnerjiSA Production on February 1, 2018 as Senior Technical Support Manager and served as Senior Technical and Commercial Support Manager and Tufanbeyli Thermal Power Plant Manager, respectively. He was appointed as the Director of Thermal Power Plants on 14 July 2020 and still continues this duty. The most favorite hobby of Ayhan Özyıldız, who is married and has twin children, is cooking.

ABOUT...

He graduated from Kırıkkale University Industrial Engineering Department in 2006. Between 2006-2008, he took part in various trainings in London. He started his career in Kaleseramik as a Method Engineer in 2009. He worked as an Engineering Manager until 2013 and as a Continuous Improvement Manager until 2017 in the same company; he has been working as the Operational Excellence Manager since 2022.

During this time, he completed the Paris Submeca University Lean production black belt trainer program in 2018 and has been leading and consulting in many lean projects within the company.

He received Six Sigma Green and Black Belt certificates in 2021/2022 and continues to act as a coordinator in all 6 sigma projects carried out within the company.

He is the coordinator of the EFQM project, which was initiated within the company by obtaining the EFQM Evaluator certificate in 2022.

He was born in 1984 in Trabzon. He completed his primary, secondary and high school education in Trabzon. He graduated from Istanbul Technical University Industrial Engineering Department in 2006. He completed the Sakarya University Production and Service Systems Management MBA program in 2009 and the Koç University MBA program in 2017.

Ahmet Boz, who started his career as a Production Planning Engineer at Tat Gıda Sek Süt in 2006, worked as Production Planning Specialist between 2009-2010, Production Planning Manager between 2010-2012, Project and Process Development Manager between 2013-2017, and Production Engineering Group Manager between 2018-2021. Ahmet Boz, who assumed the duty of Production Director as of 2021, took on Quality and Environmental Management responsibilities in addition to this duty in 2022, and his role was renewed as the Director of Operations. Currently, he is the Group Director responsible for the management of Enterprises, R&D and Technology areas.

Özer Yaslan was born on January 28, 1972. He graduated from Yıldız Technical University Mechanical Engineering Department in 1994. He completed the MBA program in Management at Yeditepe University in 2002. After working as a production manager in ZF SACHS TURKEY until 2005, he carried out his activities as production systems coordinator in ZF SACHS GERMANY until 2011. After working as the production and technical manager at BEMAS METAL (Berg Türkei) until 2015, he worked as the group manager in the aluminum profile extrusion factory at ASAŞ ALUMINYUM until 2019. Since 2019, he has been working as the production director responsible for all direct and support operations such as planning, manufacturing, maintenance and mold workshop, covering 600+ employees at BİRİNCİ OTOMOTİV.

He graduated from Middle East Technical University Mechanical Engineering in 1995. In the same year he started to work as a production engineer at the Dishwasher Plant, Arçelik A.Ş.. In 2000, he received 6 Sigma Black Belt and Master Black Belt certificates, respectively. At the end of 1999, he received Arçelik A.Ş. General Manager Special Award. He is one of the first Master Black Belts in Turkey.

Between 1999-2001, he led 6 Sigma projects as well as 6 Sigma consultancy and trainings within the organization. He joined S.P.A.C. as an independent consultant at the end of 2001. He took part in the preparation of all training notes of S.P.A.C. Consulting. In addition, he has provided Lean 6 Sigma training and consultancy services to many companies since the end of 2001 and has trained numerous Black and Green Belts until today. He is one of the approved consultants of George Group Consulting, Valeocon Consulting, Infinitas Consulting, Air Academy Association and Coca Cola Company, which are world-renowned organizations on Lean 6 Sigma. He is currently a member of international 6 Sigma Organizations such as ISSSP, ASQ and Six Sigma Forum.

He has given various seminars on Lean 6 Sigma and his articles have been published in various journals. Finally, one of the three authors of the "What is 6 Sigma?" and "Six Sigma Vision" books.
